Microgeneration Certification Scheme

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme provides assurances and accreditation of renewable energy systems, technologies and products as well as installers themselves.

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is internationally recognised and the MCS provides a global mark of high quality and competency on all products that meets a robust set of standards and rigorous testing.

The MCS also accredits installers of microgeneration technologies and assesses the supply, design and installation of renewable energy systems ensuring that the customer receives the correct solution for their needs. It is important that the your installer follows these standards and procedures are followed throught the design, supply and installation to ensure this.

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is also linked to further policies such as Feed in Tariffs, Renewable Heat Incentive and other financial incentive schemes.

This scheme provides payments for the production of renewable heat energy through systems such as air pumps, Ground pumps and solar thermal technology.

The Feed-In tariffs (Fit) provide guaranteed payments to households, communities and businesses that generate their own electricity through renewable sources. FiT also provides payment for any surplus renewable electricity that is sold back to energy suppliers.

 

This code is a mandatory requirement for all newly built sustainable homes. Our service and accredited products can help measure sustainability ratings including CO2 emissions.

Salix Finance – 100% interest-free loans

Salix Finance offer the public sector interest free loans to improve the energy efficiency of their building across England, Scotland and Wales. The funds will cover installations across a variety of energy efficient products, however for renewables this would be Heat Pumps, Micro CHP and Biomass boilers only. Carbon Trust – 0% Business Loans for Wales and Northern Ireland

For SMEs located in Wales and Northern Ireland, there is a 0% business loan for installing any renewable or energy efficient installations on their business building. Loans are available from £3,000 – £200,000, however, the size of the loan will be dependent on the projected CO2 savings of a project.
